San Francisco April 2008
In April we celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary. (2008 has had its share of big 0’s for us.) We had originally planned to vacation for about ten days, but because of work constraints we decided to go on a mini trip. Our friend and neighbor Linda likes to call them “Vacationettes.”
So for this “vacationette” we headed to San Francisco, California. We left in the middle of the week to beat the crowds and, honestly, things are just a bit brighter when you know you would be working. I found a great little hotel in the middle of downtown! (Hotel Union Square) I read mixed reviews about this hotel, but I took my chances since the hotel had completed renovations in early April. The hotel was very reasonable and we loved it’s new modern hip look.
Of course our stay would not be complete if we had not seen Jacob and our compadre’s the Cadoo’s. We had a nice dinner with the Cadoos at Foreign Cinema and then we all headed over to Cafe du Nord for a surreal night cap to see Halou. Foreign Cinema was very romantic and chic. They play movies on the wall outside while you are dining. We will definitely go there again. The next day we swung by Jacob’s for a bit and played some Wii. I know Jacob has been out of the house for 3 years now, but it’s still weird for me to visit. I think to myself “something is wrong with this picture, Jacob is supposed to be home upstairs doing his homework!!”
All in all it was a sweet little getaway. Nothing beats just hanging out with Jase and playing all day. Twenty years of marriage, I can not believe time has gone by so quickly. Looking back on our time together we have accomplished so much. I am so grateful to have such an amazing husband that I completely love and adore. If I could, I would do it all over again.
