Day at the Theater

I am lucky to have such wonderful friends. I have felt so spoiled these last few weeks. Knowing the difficult time I was having clearing out my parents home, Regina and Scott took Jase and I to see the Broadway smash hit “Wicked” at the Pantages theater in Los Angeles.

What I had thought was going to be a fantastic evening ended up as a surprise weekend getaway! After the show, the plan was to head over to the Tagine for dinner. Instead, we pulled up to the Omni hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I thought that maybe Regina had made different restaurant arrangements, so I didn’t ask any questions. Lo and behold I learned that she had made reservations for the night. Now we didn’t have to worry about driving home! I was totally shocked, even more so when Scott and Jase came walking in with our over night bags. We took a taxi to dinner, then came back to the hotel bar and listened to the piano man. Regina and I had some amazing chocolate martinis with chocolate cakes that she brought from home. The next morning we drove up the pacific coast highway on our way home and had brunch at Geoffrey’s in Malibu.

What an memorable weekend!
