Camping at Lake Cachuma

Camping. Romantic Getaway? Who knew!

Campsite

Since the boys weren’t going to be with us during Easter, Jase and I decided to do something new for the holiday. So, we packed up our camping gear and headed out to Lake Cachuma, located in Santa Barbara California’s beautiful back country.

We found a nice campsite (451) over looking the lake with our own private trail down to the waters edge. The only bad thing about being on the west side of the lake was the high winds that began as the sun went down. The winds lasted about 3 hours. This made cooking difficult and chilled us to the bone. But, being on the west side allowed for incredible sunsets.

The Docks

The next day we headed over to dock to rent a boat for a few hours. We lazilly rode around the lake until we found an quiet cove to have lunch and take a nice nap. We ended the day kickin it on our own private beach behind our camp site, taking it all in. One gets tired when you do nothing all day.

Chillin

This was the first time Jase and I have ever went camping alone as a couple. If you are looking for a nice relaxing time with your honey, camping is one of the most romantic thing you can do! Fresh air, long walks, great food and my favorite, quiet time next to the campfire. It just can’t get any better than to sit next to a warm fire with a hot roasted marsh mellow in one hand and a beer in the other under the stars with the one you love.
